My Approach

Therapy With
A Purpose.

I don't use one-size-fits-all therapy. Your treatment plan is built around methods with real evidence behind them — structured, direct, and designed to get you somewhere.

Methods

Methods That
Actually Work.

Every method I use is backed by decades of research — and tailored to what you're dealing with. You'll always know what technique we're using and why.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Identifies and restructures negative thought patterns. The most studied therapy method in existence — and the backbone of my practice.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Builds psychological flexibility. Instead of fighting your thoughts, you learn to hold them differently and take action aligned with your values.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

Focuses on solutions rather than problems. We identify what's already working and build from there — often producing faster results.

Mindfulness-Based Approaches

Evidence-based mindfulness techniques integrated into sessions. Not meditation for meditation's sake — practical tools for managing stress and anxiety.

Motivational Interviewing

For clients who feel ambivalent about change. A collaborative approach that helps you find your own motivation and commitment.

EMDR (Level I)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing for trauma processing. Available for clients where traditional talk therapy alone isn't enough.

What to Expect

Therapy That
Respects Your Time.

Here's what makes working with me different from what you might have experienced before.

Structured Sessions

Every session has an agenda. We'll start by checking in on your progress, work on the day's focus, and end with clear next steps.

Evidence-Based Methods

I use CBT, ACT, and solution-focused therapy because decades of research show they work. You'll always know what technique we're using and why.

Measurable Progress

We set concrete goals early and track them. You'll never wonder if therapy is 'working' — we'll have data.

Direct Communication

I'll tell you what I see, challenge you when needed, and celebrate real wins. No nodding along or asking 'and how does that make you feel?'

Between-Session Support

You'll get session notes, action items, and brief check-ins between appointments. Growth happens between sessions, not just during them.

A Clear End Point

Therapy isn't forever. We work toward specific goals, and when you've built the skills you need, we wrap up. Average: 8-16 sessions.

Outside the Office

More Than
A Therapist.

Getting to know your therapist matters. When I'm not in session, I'm usually somewhere outdoors — hiking mountain trails, exploring underwater, or finding the best lobster on a dock somewhere warm. I believe life should be lived fully, and I bring that same energy to my work.
